About Safe Haven

Learn about Safe Haven's survivor-centered mission and editorial standards.

Support, safety, and hope

Safe Haven is an independent educational resource created to help people recognize relationship abuse, explore safer options, and connect with established support organizations. We believe every person deserves dignity, privacy, and the freedom to make decisions about their own life.

Our content uses calm, nonjudgmental language. We do not pressure people to leave, report, confront, or disclose abuse. Safety can look different for every person, and trained advocates are best equipped to help someone consider the risks in their individual situation.

What we provide

We publish original guides about warning signs, safety planning, digital privacy, financial preparation, supporting a friend, and healing after abuse. We also connect readers to the National Domestic Violence Hotline and other trusted organizations.

  • Free educational information
  • Direct connections to confidential help
  • Privacy-conscious design and a Quick Exit button
  • English and Spanish support links
  • Hopeful, non-graphic survivor-centered content

What we are not

Safe Haven is not a crisis service, shelter, law firm, medical provider, or government agency. We do not provide individualized legal, medical, or emergency advice. If you are in immediate danger in the United States, call 911 when it is safe to do so.
